Lakewood Equestrian Center is a public equestrian facility serving riders, horse owners, and families in the Lakewood area. Operated by Pilmore Equestrian LLC through a long-term lease with the City of Lakewood, it provides horse boarding, training, riding lessons, and individualized care for boarded horses. The facility also gives boarders access to riding trails associated with the San Gabriel River system and the city horse trail near Rynerson Park. In addition to its working stable and instruction programs, the center hosts community-oriented activities, with pony rides, petting-zoo experiences, camps, parties, and special events available through on-site providers.
