Empty Saddle Club

The Empty Saddle Club is a private, member-owned equestrian organization located in Rolling Hills Estates, California. Established in the spring of 1935 by local horsemen, the historic club spans nearly 13 groomed acres and is dedicated to preserving the western way of life, traditional western riding styles, and horsemanship excellence. The facility offers direct access to more than 60 miles of scenic riding trails that look out over the Pacific Ocean and surrounding canyons. Its grounds feature three outdoor arenas, a round pen, hot walkers, and dedicated stock areas to house three herds of cattle. This infrastructure supports structured training and competitions in traditional disciplines such as cutting, ranch sorting, reined cow horse, roping, and gymkhana. Beyond equestrian sports, the venue serves as a prominent local community hub by hosting public seasonal festivals, western barbecues, and family-oriented holiday celebrations in partnership with the local municipality.
